Marcus has been in the Upstate for over a decade and is the CEO of VOTS Junk Removal. He is an Army Veteran who served under the Iraqi Freedom Campaign and is on a particular veteran mission of his own to help support other veterans in Central SC. “My goal is to be able to provide the Upstate with as many different jobs as I can for other veterans that stay within Central SC. The more jobs that we acquire, the more different types of equipment we can purchase to open up more services. My goal is to have a corporation that is fully staffed by veterans from all branches of the military.

Our mission at VOTS Junk Removal is to be fully staffed with military veterans and to make sure that there is a place that welcomes them home with open arms. Military personnel will be able to come home and work around other veterans who know what they have been through and help with the transition back into the civilian world.

Central-Clemson Recreation Center
This recreation center is a joint venture between the Town of Central and the City of Clemson and is located off of Commons Way in Central South Carolina (Click Here). When they constructed this facility in 1998, their goal was to have the finest and safest center by taking pride in the services that they offer and to make sure that their performance included going above and beyond to achieve this level of excellence.
Central-Clemson Recreation Center has many different features such as a weight room, pools, and basketball courts. For people that need a little help to achieve their own personal goal, this facility has classes and trainers that can assist them. Examples of the classes include fitness classes, fitness lesson, personal trainers, and water fitness classes. They even have an after school programs to help free some time for their customers to achieve their goals for the day.
SWU Bike Trails
The multi-use trails has trails that are 6 miles long and is located off of Clayton Street in Central South Carolina (Click Here). Even though this trail does not allow any motorized vehicles or horses, cyclists and hikers still use the trail in opposite directions based on the day of the week, making for a safer, as well as less crowded experience. They are working on putting a new/updated features such as the “The Pump Track” (that is currently in the works), the neighboring Potter’s Place Ministry, and the prayer cabins that overlook the blue trail.
The Central Railway Museum
The Central Railway Museum is an educational, interpretive, and hobby interest function of the Central Railway Model & Historical Association (CRMHA) and is located off of Werner Street in Central South Carolina (Click Here). The centerpiece of this museum is a double-decked HO scale model railroad, which mostly fills their museum building with two additional “heritage” layouts (Lionel and American Flyer) that occupy smaller rooms. Both of the layouts feature classic toy trains that many locals grew up with in the 1940s and 1950s.

This historical site was built in 1845 by James Hagwood and is an operational water-powered gristmill. Jump Off Rock Overlook has many opportunities for the whole family to enjoy such as six other overlooks, plenty of waterfalls to visit, picnic areas for lunch or a break, hiking, biking, and even horseback riding.
Sassafras Mountain
This location is known as the highest point in South Carolina and resides among the Blue Ridge Mountains (Click Here). The scenery of this view point is mind blowing and you can see four different states on a clear day. The four different states that Sassafras Mountain view point shows is South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. In addition, there are also hiking entrances to the Foothills Trail that can take you all the way to Table Rock.
