Our mission at VOTS Junk Removal is to be fully staffed with military veterans and to make sure that there is a place that welcomes them home with open arms. Military personnel will be able to come home and work around other veterans who know what they have been through and help with the transition back into the civilian world.

Apple Valley Model Railroad Club
The Apple Valley Model Railroad Club is one of the top tourist destinations in Western North Carolina and is located off of Maple Street in Hendersonville North Carolina (Click Here). According to the tale as retold by the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, “Over 300 years ago, a young Cherokee Indian chief fell in love with a fair Indian maiden. They often met on top of the rock ledge overlooking the valley below. When the young chief was called to war, the maiden promised him that she would wait for his return from their favorite rock ledge. When the Indian maiden received word that her young Indian Chief had been killed in battle, so she climbed to the edge of the rock and jumped off. Indian legend has it that on moonlit nights you can see the ghost of the maiden on Jump Off Rock.
Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site
The Carl Sandburg Home is a National Historic Site that is located off of Little River Road in Flat Rock North Carolina (Click Here). This establishment was home to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and writer Carl Sandburg. Carl and his family moved to this home in 1945 for the peace and solitude required for his writing and the more than 30 acres (120,000 m2) of pastureland required for his wife, Lilian, to raise her champion dairy goats. Sandburg spent the last twenty-two years of his life on this farm and published more than a third of his works while he resided here.
