Pickens Museum of Art & History
This museum holds a unique blend of both local art and history exhibits in the old county jail building located off of Johnson St (Click Here). The museum holds a deep historical heritage of Pickens County and the visitors can see old items such as Andrew Pickens’ dueling pistols, a model of Fort Prince George, Hitler’s radio, and even a 19th-century doctor’s field kit. They host two annual art shows each year and they also rotate art exhibits from the local artists in the months in between.
Doodle Trail
This trail is an 8.5-mile long trail that is located between Easley and Pickens. Even though Pickens County does not authorize motor vehicles such as mopeds, visitors can use the trail for biking, walking, running, and rollerblading. The path used to be a railroad in the late 1800s; in which, they used to transport goods such as food products, textiles, and automobile parts. The locals called the train Pickens Doodle because it could not turn around and it had to ride backward like a doodlebug.
